I just returned from an awesome 3-week
trip to sunny California where I photographed a gorgeous wedding in Malibu, a mid-century
modern home in Palm Springs, and a farm-to-table shoot in Santa Barbara. The
latter was an inspiring 3-day collaboration with Santa Barbara Chic, Could I have that, and Duo Events.
Here is one of my favorite photos
from the trip. I love the rich rainbow colors of vegetables contrasting against
the deep black of Kelly’s dress. We
had just returned from shopping at Santa Barbara’s farmers’ market with a ton
of fresh local produce. Duo was ready to cook, and we were ready to style,
shoot, and eat!
Many thanks to Richard Photo Lab in
LA, they did a beautiful job with the film.
There are many more photos where
this came from, so stay tuned…
I hadn’t seen anything as sweet as this intimate wintery Gramercy Park Hotel wedding. I used a mix of film and digital on this wedding. I just love how bold and saturated the blues and reds from their hotel room, flowers + accessories were captured on film.
Sarah and Travis’ wedding day started with both of them and just family getting ready at the Gramercy Park Hotel, followed by portraits in Gramercy Park and their intimate and fun City Hall ceremony.
We all ended back at the hotel with toasts and a champagne celebration!
Could this first image just blow you away? I love how medium format Fuji film saturates enhances those summer greens and pinks. This film was just perfect for Megan sister’s floral bouquet.
And how unique is Megan’s dress? I just loved photographing Megan and Connor’s portraits overlooking the stunning green of the Catskill mountains and valley.
I can’t believe it’s been 1 year since we tied the knot in Montreal!
Chandler and I were married in a civil ceremony in New York City in October 2010. Our parents met for the first time that morning, and then we had a lovely dinner at Del Posto in Manhatan. Chandler was my husband! It was the happiest day of my life.
Last May we did it again, but differently. We choose to have a party for all of our friends and family, this time in Montreal, where I grew up. We decided to exchange vows in front of everyone, and to dance the night away.
When I walked down the aisle and saw Chandler standing there under our chuppah with a huge smile waiting for me, I realised how lucky I was to have found him to love, and to love me. Seeing his handsome smile made all of the stress wash away. Chandler is attentive, generous, brilliant and funny as hell. I was going to spend the rest of my life with this incredible man, and I could not wait!
I could not stop smiling from ear to ear as I walked down the aisle towards him.
We are so grateful to all of our friends and family who shared in our celebration and who traveled from all over the world to be there with us. We are thankful to our talented photographer and friend, Heather Waraksa who captured such brilliant moments and portraits for us at both of our weddings, and to the rest of our creative team who did such amazing work.
Special thanks to Chandler’s best man and photog Michael T. Regan for shooting 4 of the above awesome dance floor and group shots of our friends. We love your Leica images, Mike!
Thank you as well to Style Me Pretty for featuring both of our weddings on your gorgeous blog. You may see that feature here.
There is nothing so wonderful as being asked to photograph a wedding for an elegant couple at one of the best restaurants in New York City. In late October, during a fluke snowstorm, I had the pleasure of photographing an intimate affair Thomas Keller’s Per Se.
Here are some of my favorite details from that day:
One of my favorite style of food is Indian. The colors, aromas and flavors of the ingredients used are so excellent. I love the chutneys, chapati and naan, mango lassis and chai to name a few.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing for a new Indian restaurant of a former wedding client of mine. The restaurant is called Greene Chutney Grill and it’s located in Jersey City, NJ. These photos will be displayed in their windows and on their walls in the coming weeks.
In January, I had the pleasure of participating in a modern winter styled wedding photo shoot here in Brooklyn. It took place at a gorgeous mansion in Clinton Hill owned by an interior designer and her husband.
The film stock I used to create the above photos was Kodak's Portra 400, which in the New York provides me with the richness and color saturation I love. I used mostly natural daylight on this shoot.
Below I list the whole creative team involved.
And here is the documentary video made by Love in Progress about our process while at work!
