Here are our favorite portrait spots along the Brooklyn waterfront. Check out this mix of proposals and fun portrait sessions I did recently, and feel free to reach out to book yours!

The River Cafe garden is a perfect choice, because you can propose in the sweet and often empty garden and stroll right into the restaurant for a lovely intimate dinner with Manhattan skyline views. There are sometimes weddings in this quaint little garden, but if you choose a weekday, it is likely to be empty and quiet for a private moment.

The reddish brown brick of St Ann’s Warehouse with views of the top of the Brooklyn Bridge also offer a unique and beautiful background to the moments and pictures captured. Not many people know about this spot, and I’ve often found it to be completely empty and private! I’ve done a bunch of portrait shoots inside it.

Of course proposals right on the pier, adjacent to the River Cafe, is stunning. Here are some recent proposals I’ve done in that spot:

Proposals around DUMBO and at or near Jane’s Carousel:

Proposal inside the River Cafe are doable, but do require permission from their management, and are best planned at off peak times of day or the week.
