I had the pleasure of getting back in the color darkroom on Friday to print some 11×14's for the upcoming New York Magazine Weddings event on March 30th at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
I was using a new kind of paper, the Fuji Crystal Archive Type II as opposed to my favorite Super C which had been discontinued in 11×14 sheets, to my dismay. I do like the prints I made, even though they appear softer and less contrasty than they would have with the Super Type C.
Here are the 6 prints I made in the darkroom on Friday.
I loved photographing Patty & Joe in Montauk. What a fun wedding and rehearsal dinner: casual and elegant, just like the sweet couple.
Patty and Joe’s daytime wedding took place at East by NorthEast. Their ceremony was set up out back overlooking Montauk’s Fort Pond. It was a gloriously sunny summer weekend. Their rehearsal dinner was also super fun, a delicious clam bake at Navy Beach. I enjoyed mixing up the mediums I used to document their wedding. I photographed with a Contax 645 film camera, a Mamiya RZ67 camera, a Holga and a Canon dslr!
From the bride:
After we got engaged, we really had no clear idea of exactly what we wanted for our wedding – other than a fun party that wasn’t too formal – or even where we wanted to get married. Eventually, we settled on Montauk, where we had spent the last two summers, and it couldn’t have worked out better. It became a destination wedding, of sorts, and we were able to enjoy the full weekend with our family and friends. Best of all, Mother Nature cooperated completely, giving us a string of perfect 80 degree days in the middle of one of the hottest, most humid summers on record in the northeast.
Patty and Joe’s wedding was also featured on Style Me Pretty. Please feel free to take a look at it here!

In preparation for the big New York Magazine Wedding event on March 30th in which I will be displaying my work, I have been busy making prints and new albums. I also have hired a new profesional printer to take care of my extra large prints because, as much as I love to print, it has been hard to find the time to do it all myself.
Anthony Accardi of Green Rhino in Greenpoint, Brooklyn has been working away and drum scanning negatives for me. Here is an image of Jade with her bouquet that he drum scanned, at full frame, for me yesterday. I’m loving all of the lovely detail which is captured in the scanning process. I can’t wait to make a print of it!
This month's Image of the Month is a photograph of Gopi's luscious bouquet, photographed during her portrait session, outside the Foundry. I love the shallow depth of field and how the rich colors of the flowers pop from the white backdrop of her dress.

Please take a look on Style Me Pretty for Debjani and Sandeep’s sweet proposal story!
Here are a couple of photographs I took on a recent trip to Palm Springs at New Years.
I had heard about Palm Springs' modern architecture and quirky interior design before going, and I was eager to see it! Driving a few hours to get there from LA, I was excited to see the mountains peeking out over low mid-century modern homes, palm trees and fruit trees illuminated by the warm desert sun.
You may see many more of these photos in these two blog posts:
photos on these pages and my portrait by Trent Bailey Rue Magazine Issue 3 just launched this week, and I was especially eager to see this one!
On pages 60+61 of the current issue you’ll find A Skill-Sharing Jamboree in NYC, organized and designed by You + Me* Lifestylists, featuring a few New York artists, including me!
I was asked to participate by demonstrating a still life shoot using my 6×7 medium format camera with film and Polaroid. I taught exposure, how to use a hand held light meter, using fill cards, etc..
It was last year, this month, that I photographed the lovely couple at the Foundry. In honour of their anniversary, I'm posting a few of my favorite pictures from their day.
