This month's Image of the Month is a photograph of Gopi's luscious bouquet, photographed during her portrait session, outside the Foundry. I love the shallow depth of field and how the rich colors of the flowers pop from the white backdrop of her dress.

Karen Wise – NYC Indian Wedding Photographer – published on Style Me Pretty with Debjani and Sandeep’s Angel Orensanz wedding.
I’m excited to share a Style Me Pretty feature with you today! Last week SMP published my photos from a beautiful Indian wedding I photographed last spring at Angel Orensanz Foundation in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Please take a look on Style Me Pretty for Debjani and Sandeep’s sweet proposal story!
Here are a couple of photographs I took on a recent trip to Palm Springs at New Years.
I had heard about Palm Springs' modern architecture and quirky interior design before going, and I was eager to see it! Driving a few hours to get there from LA, I was excited to see the mountains peeking out over low mid-century modern homes, palm trees and fruit trees illuminated by the warm desert sun.
You may see many more of these photos in these two blog posts:
photos on these pages and my portrait by Trent Bailey Rue Magazine Issue 3 just launched this week, and I was especially eager to see this one!
On pages 60+61 of the current issue you’ll find A Skill-Sharing Jamboree in NYC, organized and designed by You + Me* Lifestylists, featuring a few New York artists, including me!
I was asked to participate by demonstrating a still life shoot using my 6×7 medium format camera with film and Polaroid. I taught exposure, how to use a hand held light meter, using fill cards, etc..
It was last year, this month, that I photographed the lovely couple at the Foundry. In honour of their anniversary, I'm posting a few of my favorite pictures from their day.
I had a lovely time over New Years visiting Palm Springs for the first time! It was beautiful, and so much fun. Although it was chilly, it was super-relaxing and photographically inspiring. It was so nice to be there, after having just lived through the "Snowpocalypse" back east.
Chandler and I arrived on New Years Eve and spent time with our friends in their gorgeous new home. It was here that I made a lot of these pictures on film. Their living room was filled with awesome furniture and knick knacks (an Eames rocking chair, an ultra-comfy chaise made of seat belts, and a rock & roll Elvis nutcracker to name a few). Upon entering you see this plus a view of mountains and fruit trees through giant windows.
My other pictures were shot in various locations around the city of Palm Springs, including at the Parker Palm Springs and Ace hotels. Thanks to Jonathan Adler for designing much of the decor at the Parker, gorgeous!
These photographs are from my recent trip to Ashland, Kentucky where I spent Thanksgiving with Chandler and his mother, Rita.
Having spent the last five years gut renovating a pre civil war log cabin (what she calls her “Ole Kentucky Home”) Rita recently retired from Philadelphia to her hometown of Ashland and her cozy new cabin.
We visited for the first time over Thanksgiving and were amazed at how beautifully she restored her new home.
I really enjoyed my week there, and meeting all of their warm and hospitable extended family.
