Although it was years ago that I first ate there, Franny's restaurant is a new obsession of mine. When family members are in town, or when friends from Manhattan who rarely come to Brooklyn finally do visit, we go to Franny's. It always makes a great impression. The pizzas are delicious and the hors d'oeuvre (sunchokes, artichokes, and salads) are amazing too! The vast wine menu lists something for everyone, carrying wines from all regions of Italy, and one champagne. The staff is friendly, professional, and they know their menu and wines quite well.
Another gem of Park Slope is Blue Apron Foods, which happens to be on my block, its entrance on Union Street, corner of 7th Ave in Center Slope.
I had to get some of these cute cupcakes which I first saw in the window. I photographed the red velvet and chocolate ones they carry from Baked first, and then I ate them! (Baked is a cake business based in Brooklyn, in the neighborhood of Red Hook, bordering the East River.)
This peach bowl is from Leaf & Bean also located in the heart of Park Slope.
