When her new Oh Joy for Chronicle pieces arrived in the mail from San Diego last week, my jaw dropped! I had never seen a mailer or a file folder look so breathtakingly beautiful!
I initially met Joy when I was contracted to photograph her Philadelphia wedding in 2006. Since then, we’ve continued to collaborate on creative projects: she’s designed my logo, my blog, my stationery and the look of my website too, while I’ve shot her different lines of stationery products.
It was such a pleasure to make these still lifes in my Bklyn studio with my photo books and wooden trunk.
(For those who have asked the photo book used was A History of Photography: From 1839 to the Present; The George Eastman House Collection. The flower image was made by the photographer Albert Renger-Patzsch in 1922 (a gelatin silver print).
