Here is a bright and fun shoot I did for my friend and fellow photographer Sheila Griffin. What a pleasure it was to photographer her, with her husband and sweet newborn son Isaac, as well as with Ivy, their greyhound! I photographed them on film and digitally, to mix it up and capture the season’s beauty in full color.
Thunder and grey skies didn’t stop me from photographing Alex and Zach’s Prospect Park engagement session. We just stayed near the boat house, to be safe!
Take a look at this joyful and cozy series of portraits I made. You will see just why this loving couple is tying the knot next year!
I am happy to see Hannah and James’ Catskills Fall Wedding on Style Me Pretty! I loved photographing the couple’s colorful fall wedding at the Kaaterskill. Here is an excerpt. I couldn’t have described Hanna and Jimm’s impeccable style any better.
“…The bride wore GOLD! And a stunning, gold Pnina Tornai dress at that! Hanna and Jimm said their I Do’s at The Kaaterskill, a family farm that they visit each year, which felt just like home surrounded by family and friends, horse pastures and beautiful backdrops. The bride’s dramatic dress mixed with an array of colorful florals by Saipua made for the perfect pair and Karen Wise Photography captured it beautifully! Take a look and see why this wedding has us ready for fall. Be sure to check out their gorgeous hand-painted wedding cake!”

Being able to capture so much color, joy, and tradition among this wedding’s festivities reminds me of why I am so in love with my craft. The chateau was the perfect setting to make vibrant images in which you could almost hear the beat of the drums and the chanting during the groom’s horse procession.
I was enamored by Nandini’s hand embroidered reception dress designed by Zara Umrigar. The color red in Hindu culture represents prosperity and fertility. Sabyasachi designed Nandini’s other fabulous lehengas.
What a regal wedding!
I’ve photographed many Indian weddings, including one in Udaipur, India, but this is one of my favorites!
Alexis and Lee had a stunning Brooklyn Winery wedding. The couple got ready at the Wythe Hotel, where they also had a smashing portrait session. Their Chinese tea ceremony took place in a rustic room at the Brooklyn Winery. Their ketubah signing took place adjacent to it. Both ceremonies were surrounded by family and friends. You’ve gotta love a unique mingling of cultural traditions at a wedding!

I’ve photographed my share of Brooklyn Botanic Garden weddings, but Patty and Tim’s summer wedding at the BBG was so inspiring! From the bold pinks and oranges of Seaport Flowers’ bouquets to the lush summer greens in the BBG’s summer garden, this wedding was definitely a stunner.
It’s been such a busy Fall that I’m just getting around to posting some film images of Patty & Tim’s wedding from late summer. I photographed Patty and Tim’s wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden on a hot and humid August day…
Going through my archives, I found this gem: Shira and Jim’s pretty spring wedding at the BBG.
Living and working in Park Slope, in close proximity to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, I’m fortunate to photograph weddings, engagements, and family sessions at the BBG. Shira and Jim married under a beautiful Hebrew tallit-turned chuppah, enveloped by magnolia and cherry blossoms. This was one of the most scenic Jewish ceremonies I had seen, and Shira and Jim really used the BBG’s grounds to its fullest.
Our film and digital pictures were enhanced by Saipua’s floral design. Sarah’s arrangements are literally breath of fresh air, you can almost smell them through the computer screen!
Spring is finally here, and it won’t be long until the magnolias and cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
Now’s the time to plan your engagement, elopement, family and maternity sessions with Karen Wise to catch all the spring flowers at peak bloom!
You gotta love a portrait of a happy bride. Yasaman and Ian’s summer Foundry wedding couldn’t have been more chic. The rich colors: cream, violet and brown were so beautiful. I just love how the colors and textures were captured on film and digitally. Yasaman, an architect, chose the perfect New York venue to depict her passion.
Usually, a summer wedding in NYC, especially if there ceremony is outside, is quite hot and sweaty. Yasaman and Ian’s wedding day was no different than a typical Saturday in July! It’s usually a challenge to photograph sweat-soaked guests, but in Yasaman and Ian’s wedding photos, you could not tell that it was a hot day! In fact, I love how their wedding pictures convey cool, calm and collectedness. The couple and their guests and details are all so elegant.
