Hey! I’m Karen, a wedding photographer based in Brooklyn + the Berkshires. Writing a bio feels a bit self-centered, because I’m all about connecting with you and hearing about your wedding plans and photography needs! But since you’re curious about me, here’s a little peek into who I am:

With more than two decades behind the camera and at least 600 weddings under her belt, Karen Wise is a true expert in both digital and film photography. Each wedding she captures is infused with her unique blend of elegance and emotional depth, creating memories that stand out from the crowd.

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Wise learned the ropes from top New York photogs before diving into her own business. She’s captured moments at high-profile weddings like those of Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer and Yo-Yo Ma’s daughter, as well as extravagant Indian celebrations, beachy destination receptions, and unique New York nuptials. Acknowledged by American PHOTO magazine as one of the “World’s Top 10,” her work has graced the pages of renowned publications such as New York Magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings, VOGUE India, BRIDES, Business Insider, and more.

Besides weddings, Karen photographs families (check out her Brooklyn Stoop Portraits – a project she lovingly started in April 2020), and food/cookbooks. She’s into vegetarian cooking, yoga, tennis, hiking, basketball, skiing, gardening and travel. Originally from Montreal, she speaks French and splits her time between Park Slope, Brooklyn, and the Berkshires with her husband and their 7-year-old son.
